Where my wellies take me...

We have read the book 'Where My Wellies Take Me' by Clare and Michael Morpurgo.
We went on a walk around the school grounds, some of us wearing our wellies, and looked at nature and wildlife.

Can you add a comment below about what you saw?

Life oh the Home Front!

Congratulations on your performances of 'Life on the Home Front', you were great!  Here are the photos taken after the dress rehearsal!

Summer Term

In the first half term our theme is Chocolate!!
We are going to find out about the Aztecs who first discovered chocolate; we are also going to visit Cadbury's World!  In Science we are investigating solids and liquids (including melting chocolate!). In RE we are finding out about Buddhism, and in PE we will be swimming and a tennis coach is coming in to work with us. Also, in ICT, we will be using Excel to create spreadsheets.
Don't forget to leave a comment!

Evacuated to Beaumanor Hall!

On Monday 4th February children in Mrs Lampkin/Mrs Shaw's and Miss Penrice's classes were evacuated to Beaumanor.  All the children were dressed in typical clothes and carried gas mask boxes.  They also had picnic lunches from the war years (definitely no chocolate or bananas!).
Activities included filling in their Identity Cards, planning a meal then shopping for ingredients and rations, listening on the radio for secret codes then decoding the messages, and experiencing what it would have been like during an air raid, (followed by some singing of popular war-time songs).

Have a look at our photos and don't forget to post a comment about the day!

Strange happenings at The Pastures!

On Tuesday we had an incident at school. Something very mysterious landed on the playground near our classroom.  Children in year 3/4 had to go to the hall for registration.  After the scientists had carried out their investigations, they gave us the all-clear and we were allowed to return to our classroom.  At playtime we watched one scientist move some pieces of metal from the inside of the tent (some of which was covered in orange slime!).  Smoke was billowing out and some very peculiar noises could be heard from within!
Here are some photos of what we saw!
